EV Charger Installation · Leander, Texas
EV charger installation in Leander. Yes, even in a new build.
Most Leander homes are recent, and that surprises people: newer doesn’t mean ready for an EV. We measure what your panel can carry, then install a Level 2 charger that’s permitted, inspected and backed for life.
Every Leander install includes
- A real load calculation — before we sell you anything.
- Its own 240V circuit — sized to your charger and your car.
- Leander permit and inspection — filed and scheduled by us.
- Flat price up front — no change orders halfway through.
- Lifetime workmanship warranty — for as long as you own the home.
Leander Homes & EV Chargers
New construction, wired to pass, not to plan ahead.
Newer master-planned sections. Builder electrical is done to pass inspection on day one. A 200-amp panel can already be crowded by two AC units, an electric range and a dryer, with no slot or capacity planned for a charger. A load calculation tells us whether it fits as-is or needs load management.
Garage too far from the panel? Common in newer floor plans. The wire path, not the charger, is often the biggest part of the price, and we’ll show you the route before you approve anything.
Older parts of town. Older panels get checked for condition, not just space. Federal Pacific, Zinsco, Pushmatic or Challenger means the panel comes first.
Permits: Leander processes permits through its online Development Hub, and every contractor has to be registered with the city before a permit issues. We’re registered and handle the permit and inspection.

EV chargers in Leander, answered straight
Do I need a permit to install an EV charger in Leander?
Yes. A new 240-volt charger circuit needs a permit and inspection in Leander. Permits go through the city's online Development Hub, and only registered contractors can pull them. We're registered and handle it for you.
My Leander home is brand new. Why would it need anything for an EV charger?
Builders size the electrical to pass inspection for the house as built, not for a 40 or 48-amp charger running for hours every night. Many new panels are already close to full. We run a load calculation so you know for sure before you buy anything.
How much does EV charger installation cost in Leander?
Mostly it depends on how far your parking spot is from the panel, the wire path, and panel capacity. The $119 consult gets you a flat price up front, credited toward the job if you approve the same day.
Do you install Tesla and ChargePoint chargers in Leander?
Yes. We're Tesla certified and ChargePoint certified, and we install other major Level 2 brands too.
Is there still a federal tax credit for a home EV charger?
Not for new installs. The federal 30C credit for home chargers ended for equipment placed in service after June 30, 2026. If your charger was installed and working before then, you may still be able to claim it on your 2026 return with IRS Form 8911 — ask your tax preparer. Utility programs and time-of-use rates are where the savings are now, and we'll point you to whatever your provider offers.
